Bio
My background is both American and German. I spent the first half of my life growing up in Germany and moved to the United States in 2000.
My primary languages are both German and English. I went to college for my degree in Business Management from 2004-2008 in New Jersey, followed by a Teaching Certification with Advanced Standing in 2021 from Rider University. My latest academic accomplishment is a Masters’s Degree in Developmental Psychology, focusing on positive social change, child development, and brain growth in middle-aged children and teenagers. Personally, I am a certified diver and avid photographer and traveler, as well as a mom to two beautiful daughters and three dogs. My favorite place in the world is the beach. My passion lies in teaching, exploring, and helping young minds grow into worldly individuals.
Teaching Experience
My teaching experience started in 2008 as a substitute teacher for grades K-12 in the New Jersey public school system. I added my certification in 2012, teaching Kindergarten. After a move to Georgia, I have taught IB English and German at the International Charter School of Atlanta since 2019.
What is your teaching philosophy?
As an IB teacher, I aim to transform students and schools as they learn through dynamic cycles of inquiry, action, and reflection. My goal is to enable and support students as they develop the approaches to learning they need for academic and personal success.
