As a young IB graduate, my style with students is based on friendship and mentorship to establish trust and passion for the material I teach. Without love and eagerness to learn from what you study or teach, one's attempts to succeed are futile.
I introduce myself and get to know more about the student on an academic level and character-wise to develop the most efficient teaching strategies custom to the student's type. I then set out the plan and progress agenda for our upcoming classes and introduced my teaching style. From that point on, I can immediately start with the first lesson.
Students become more confident and accurate in their choices while learning and examining by creating the ability to trust themselves, their instincts, and their logical thought process.
I sometimes give unexpected short breaks to talk to students on a personal level as friends to boost their moods, and I try to make the class as dynamic and fun as possible. For good grades, I usually give gifts to my students to keep them motivated.
I would try my best to teach the concept in various teaching strategies, considering diagrams, video content, assignments, research, books, and multimedia references (e.g., Podcasts) to deliver the idea.
I read and answered with the different types of comprehension passages, showing them my logic in analyzing the passage and tactics in finding the answers. From then on, I regularly assign them various comprehension passages with questions and a set time and provide continuous feedback.
Maintaining a balance between friendliness and professionalism, Listening more to the student's needs and concerns.
I go into the theory of knowledge behind the subject relating it to real-life applications and maybe mysteries of the universe; I open their eyes to the beauty behind all the complexity and, at times, show engaging animations and TED talks.
Typical questions in class, Assignments, and Monthly tests.
I solve many questions with them, first taking the lead and then gradually integrating them more in the answering process until they thoroughly think and attempt to answer. In short, I aim to reverse the teacher-student role without them noticing so that they can eventually feel capable of the subject.
Directly ask them or their parents to review their previous test grades and create an evaluation test.
I try not to go off track, so I prepare some material before the class that is oriented around the students' needs and weaknesses.
PowerPoint Slides, Books & Articles in PDF forms, and Video Content & Animation from YouTube mainly.
