Bachelor in Education & Mathematics
Student-centered needs and focused on curriculum requirements with time management.
Initially will try to find the student's aptitude and approach towards Mathematics. Then will discuss with students simple mathematics-related questions, curriculum, and pattern of the curriculum. The problem faced and requirements by the students in the curriculum. The time required to complete the problem or the entire curriculum and the will settle time schedule for completing the curriculum/ problem. Some students' requirement is to complete the entire curriculum of concern IBDP-Mathematics, which takes 70 to 90 hours for the concern-higher or standard level. Extended Essay and Internal assessment guidance or support is extra and not a part of the teaching hours.
Making students basic clear and help to apply knowledge for interpretation and logical & mathematically analysis of the subject. Focus and centered on curriculum topics always help students to be independent learners.
Students' aptitude and approach toward mathematics need to be developed for liking towards it will surely motivate them to understand and work on mathematics.
Doing and redoing basic concepts, exposure to examples, alternate methods of mathematically working will help in developing skills or concepts.
In mathematics, the comprehension of understanding means to be aware of notation and command terms, knowledge of technology-use of graphic display calculators. As such in IBDP or IGCSE students are made aware of all these notations and command terms while teaching and a list of it can be provided, if students need it. Graphic display calculator working will be done on screen and students need to reciprocate for their knowledge.
The student focus strategy -such as the need and depth of the curriculum to be done with students is important. Students are taught topic-wise with a focus on mathematically working /procedure on whiteboard and exhibit working any on graphic display calculator is required.
Any student who achieves any correct result and procedure in mathematics makes him/her get excited about the outcome / engage with new problems if concepts are clear.
Students solving mathematical problems given as homework or doing past examination papers questions are sure shot techniques.
The student confidence is created once he/she has a breakthrough on problems assigned or getting good grades/marks in the school. IBDP assessment.
For mathematics, a student's performance is evaluated on the basis of formative and summative assessments. This assessment can be taken by the tutor or school.
Discussion with the students needs related to the curriculum to be exerted initially and then working on it . This work will help to address students' needs.
Microsoft whiteboard for solving and explaining mathematical concepts. Using Graphic display calculator-Casio fx cg50 emulator, on one Monitor and on laptop viewing /observing student on a zoom meet or else and interacting with the headphone. In case, if some materials-to be display-PDF or word doc then uses the first monitor or send it to students via email.
