Tutor Bio
Having grown up on three continents, it was almost a natural choice for me to pursue a career that honored multicultural experiences. Thus, I built my career around the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) primarily studying and teaching English A literature, Language and Literature, and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). My passion for lifelong learning motivated my growth in the DP programme where I took on roles of increasing responsibility, roles that not only made me an “ambassador” of IBDP but also laid foundations for rich networking. To guide my students to excellence, I pride myself on the mastery of interpreting and applying IB Assessment Rubrics.

Tutor Teaching Style
The core of much of the assessments in IBDP revolves around written tasks. This is especially so in Literature A, Language and Literature, ToK, and the Extended Essay. As a seasoned teacher, other than administering the obvious baseline assessment in written format, I would employ other strategies to accurately assess my student's abilities. This could include reading, listening, speaking, viewing, and visual representation activities. My evaluation of the student will be an ongoing practice – to continually guide my student to the level of mastery.
Following an evaluation of a student, it is important to engage in a candid conversation over his or her strengths and challenges in relation to the proficiencies outlined in the curriculum. Fortunately, the criterion-referenced nature of IBDP assessments provides the benchmarks of achievement. In consultation with the student, we will set out strategies to achieve mastery of strengths and growth on areas needing improvement. The key to success though lies in establishing the congenial (and professional) rapport between tutor and student.
