About Julia
I completed the IB in 2019 with 41/45 points. Since then, I have loved guiding students through the IB while simultaneously studying neuroscience and chemistry at university. Having completed the IB, I can relate to the student experience and help students achieve the highest possible grade, thanks to my extensive tutoring experience.

Teaching Experience
Undergraduate Research Assistant to Professor Youssef Ezzyat
- Working in Youssef Ezzyat's Lab, collecting and post-processing EEG data using Python to elucidate the neural basis of memory.
Online Private Tutor
- Tutor many diverse students in IB subjects such as Math, Biology, and Sports Science in preparation for IB exams. Organize course content and prepare lessons, considering each student’s weaknesses and learning objectives.
Peer Tutor
- Conduct weekly Teaching Assistant sessions and host STEM zone hours for up to 18 students to reinforce concepts learned in both Introductory Chemistry I and II through worksheets and discussion. Collaborate with fellow course assistants and professors in weekly staff meetings to discuss students' progression, class material, and upcoming exams.

My methodology and approach to tutoring
What is your teaching philosophy?
I aim to make my lessons as enjoyable and useful as possible, so learning complex concepts become a fun challenge, reviewing content is highly effective, and working on assignments is gratifying.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I like quickly grasping a student’s goals and creating a detailed plan to achieve them. I also discuss important things such as preferred learning styles and address any particular challenges a student may face.
