My methodology and approach to tutoring

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that learning in today’s world must reflect the realities of a diverse, multicultural, and interconnected global society. In the classroom, I strive to create an environment where students are encouraged to take risks, collaborate, and shape their own worldviews through inquiry and evidence-based reasoning. Science education, in particular, offers a powerful platform for students to actively construct knowledge measuring, analyzing, and engaging in meaningful, project-based work that mirrors real-world challenges.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In a typical first session with a student, my primary goal is to build a foundation of trust and understanding. I begin by getting to know the student as a learner, what they enjoy about science, where they feel confident, and which areas they find challenging. I ask about their past experiences in the subject, any specific strengths or weaknesses they’ve identified, and how they typically like to learn.
