In iGCSE Computer Science, I support students with: Algorithms and computational thinking Programming (Python, pseudocode, logic building) Data representation and binary concepts Computer systems and architecture Networks and cybersecurity Exam technique and structured answers For ICT, I focus on: Understanding digital systems in real-world contexts Data handling and analysis The impact of technology on society Applying theory to practical scenarios In Design Technology, I help students: Develop structured design processes Strengthen evaluation and analysis skills Link creativity with technical understanding Improve coursework and written responses What makes my lessons effective is structure and clarity. I assess where a student is struggling, break topics into smaller steps, and build their understanding progressively. I also focus heavily on exam preparation - teaching students how to interpret questions correctly, structure longer answers, and avoid common mistakes. Students often say they feel more confident after just a few sessions because they finally understand what they’re doing - rather than memorising without clarity. My aim is not just to help students pass, but to help them feel capable and in control of the subject.
