IB Chemistry Group Classes

Bonding through organic mechanisms, with the quantitative work practised weekly rather than crammed.

2 hours of live class every week for 36 teaching weeks, in a cohort of no more than 6. SL and HL run as separate groups.

What the year covers in Chemistry

The cohort follows a published roadmap, so you can see in September what will be taught in March. Depth differs between SL and HL; the sequence does not.

  1. 01Atomic structure, bonding and periodicity
  2. 02Stoichiometry, energetics and gas laws
  3. 03Kinetics, equilibrium, acids/bases and buffers
  4. 04Redox, electrochemistry and organic chemistry
  5. 05Paper technique: multiple choice, structured response, data-based questions

Why a group works for Chemistry

Chemistry punishes gaps that compound. A fixed weekly slot catches a shaky mole calculation in October rather than in April.

If it turns out the group is not the right fit — because the gap is bigger than a weekly class can close, or the pace is wrong — we will say so and move the student to one-to-one. That is a conversation, not a cancellation.

  • 2 hours of live class every week, 18 weeks a semester
  • A maximum of 6 students, taught by an IB-experienced tutor
  • A published topic roadmap for the full year, so nothing is improvised
  • Weekly homework and worked solutions
  • Class recordings, for catching up and revising
